I came across this book today and thought I’d post about it. It’s called The Voudon Gnostic Workbook by Michael Bertiaux. What I find interesting is how exactly a ‘gnostic’ outlook is applied to Voudon/Hoodoo practice. I’m going to have to read a few chapters and see what that’s all about. I’ll let you know what I think.

While I have great respect for Mr. Beriteaux, and his impressive laundry-list of Bishopric lineages, I’ve had the “Voudon Gnostic Workbook” kicking around the library for almost 20 years now, and I never had much use for it. A Voudon Priest (Houngan) friend of mine and I were in a conversation with a third party,and we both said at the same time “well, it’s not Voudon, and it’s not Gnostic”, but otherwise it’s pretty interesting.
